Although the design is clearly rooted in the Greene and Greene style, my Aurora Table Desk has other influences at play as well.
The pulls were originally a James Krenov detail which I unknowingly borrowed.
The idea for the arched drawer rail came to me while standing in line at a Seattle PCC grocery store. Through the overhead windows loomed the graceful arches of the Aurora Bridge. The (unnamed at that point) Table Desk Design was on my computer at home without an arch and somewhat lifeless. Inserting the arch and letting it pass under and define the shape of the drawers brought the design to life.
